Section 26
Deferrable

(1) If the Vice-Chancellor and the General Secretary do not fulfill their duties according to their positions, do not work honestly or do not behave in accordance with their position, if one-fourth of the members immediately present in the Assembly submit a written application to the Chancellor to remove them from their positions, the Chancellor under the chairmanship of a member of the Assembly, the Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Grants Commission A three-member investigation committee will be formed.
(2) The investigation committee constituted as per sub-section (1) shall conduct the necessary investigation and submit its report to the Chancellor within thirty days.
(3) After receiving the report as per sub-section (2), the chancellor shall present the report to the assembly.
(4) If the meeting of the Assembly decides to remove the Vice-Chancellor or the General Secretary from the post during the discussion on the report submitted in accordance with sub-section (3), the Chancellor shall remove the Vice-Chancellor or the General Secretary from the post. (5) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (4), removal of the Vice-Chancellor or the General Secretary He will have to be given an opportunity to come clean first. (6) Except for the Vice-Chancellor and the General Secretary, the procedure to be followed in the investigation or removal from the position of other officers of the University on the charges under sub-section (1) shall be as prescribed.
